Basically yes. It is not meant to be used as a smart watch for notifications, or constantly measuring your biometrics.
Bluetooth link on G-shocks has only a handful of functions:
- sync the time
- edit watch settings, like: alarms, timers, world time, key sound, etc.
- "find my phone" which makes your phone ring so you can find it
- mark a map location in the app, triggered by clock sync
You can use official Casio Watches app on Android and iOS, but it requires to sign in with your email, so it's not that privacy friendly in that regard.
