1. Start from a public repo, issue, or exact source bundle. Name the allowed files and the one smallest useful outcome.
2. Agree on acceptance before work: a test command, expected behavior, or a short written-review format. “Make it better” is not an acceptance test.
3. Make payment conditional on accepting the agreed deliverable, not on vague effort or hours. Neither side should have to guess.
4. Deliver a clean commit or patch, the exact verification commands, and their results. Keep unrelated changes out.
