Auto-delete stale/dead ads after 3 months

A suggestion for the platform.

There is a lot of stale/dead ads to wade through on the site.

It is good that there is a notification for users when the seller has not been online for a month.

My suggestion is that ads are automotically deleted if the seller (the person who has posted the ad) has not been online for 3 months or something like that. This would help reduce the number of dead ads to sort through.

Additionally, many of us have set it up to get notifications on Signal or SimpleX Chat. Despite that, our accounts still get flagged as inactive. Sending a message to users that they will have to reply to within a given period would be good. The same channel for activity notifications could also be used for announcements.

You're not on the site, you're inactive. Sounds pretty straightforward to me. Setting notifications don't make you active on the site, completely different mechanisms. I too have saved searches sending me email from the site, w/ the logic anyone receiving something from the site counts inactive, doesn't make any sense. You're either here on the site active, or not, there's no middle ground or notification workaround to make you appear not absent on the site despite the fact.

I think that's a good idea. I don't think it makes sense to have sellers keep visiting the site just to keep the online status.

What really matters is that when a buyer does get a message or sale, that they show up to complete it. For example I missed a sale because I was gone on a business trip, however my account still said I was "online" because at that time I left my computer on since I share it remotely with another user as a private VPN of sorts.

Recently I messaged ~10 proxy buyers to buy something for me, of that only 3 have replied after 3 days and all of them are listed as being online. Probably going to recontact them using their simplex since I think people might be having trouble with AnonBazaar's messenger notifications from the serve switch, but IDK.
