My most recent direct message reads as follows: Hi, I want to buy the full amount, but I’ll be paying by check. I don’t know how to use Monero, and I don’t want to share my wallet address. I hope that’s not a problem. Let me know once you receive the payment.

With an url shortener link bellow. Most likely the phisher saw my listing for proton mail accounts. I don't know what's the reasoning behind trying to phish me, but I can guess they prey on newly active accounts
