Hey AnonBazaar fans and our beloved Monero Matrix and X critics!

I know AnonBazaar has been getting roasted in the Matrix Monero group, on X/Twitter, and probably in other corners of the "crypternet" I am blissfully unaware of, all for that AI-generated banner since our launch. Look, we've been knee-deep in real functionality, new features, and fixing bugs because a fancy banner and design are worthless if the server's down and nobody can load the page to even see it. But we hear you loud and clear: Your feedback is the fuel for our improvements, the features you want, and yes, better banners too :) So, in response to the slop-shaming, we’ve created a system that allows Monero artists to upload their banner designs and, if approved, have their artwork featured on AnonBazaar’s homepage while earning XMR tips.

The Vision: Keep it neutral: please no controversy, no politics, no subcultures of any stripe. We want something that appeals to everyone and their moms too, not just our hardcore Monero crowd. Remember, mass adoption is the endgame, not just pumping stats or tickling the tastebuds of our picky online art snobs. We’re positioning ourselves as the opposite of the darknet market: Think the sunny, feel-good energy of a farmer’s market, where your mom buys fresh strawberries; or eBay, where your non-crypto uncle hunts for antiques; or Etsy, where your cat-lady neighbor picks custom kitty sweaters; or even Craigslist, where the average deal-hunter gets his “like-new” couch. (As much as I personally love Monero-chan and the Pepe squad, let’s keep those gems for our inner circle or for custom themes; see final note.)

The Challenge: Channel positive energy around opting out of the fiat and thriving on digital cash P2P with legal, everyday goods and services. But here’s the real challenge: make it lovable for our current users too, since they’re the judges, voting with forum upvotes, tips, comments, and feedback. I suspect lazy corporate Memphis designs or more AI slop won’t survive that ;)

Specs:
- Desktop dimensions: 1440px x 150px
- Mobile dimensions: 400px x 150px
- Should contain the name AnonBazaar
- Should leave space for a sponsor box (the box itself does not need to be included)
- Must be SFW / family friendly

This is my subjective opinion, and I may be wrong.
The most neutral approach is to remove the banner and use the brand colors—orange, white, and gray.

Banners don’t sell products and services; people do. Group the offerings into categories with an emotional message that creates a first impression and highlights the uniqueness of each offering. A few well‑chosen categories are enough for users to immediately understand what the site is about.

Example categories

- For Life – Everyday products and goods
- Secured – Digital security and privacy
- Crypto for All – Monero‑only products and services
- Bazaar – Unique and trending goods
- XMR Gifts – Monero‑branded gifts
- Freedom of Choice – Privacy‑focused services and products
...

Each category should have its own image or photo, all rendered in a consistent style.

The incentive to move away from cards is accessibility for anyone with an internet connection. However, not everyone online knows English, and not everyone knows how to use cryptocurrency.

Fully agree.

Personally the only kind of banner I want is Monerochan, but since the site owner doesn't want that, I think a clean flat color is better. The main thing is the UI shouldn't look cluttered.

A suggestion with the frontpage toolbar, I think after "For Sale" and "Wanted", "Proxy Shops" "Cash to XMR" "XMR to Cash" "Gold/Silver" should be the following categories in that order.

The reason why is the vast majority of people who first see this site often do not even have monero, so having the ways to buy it up front is better (plus as far as I can tell, these are the most commonly used listings), and having the proxy shops more prominently displayed will help people because if they can't find what they want as a listing here, they can be confident that they will still be able to use their monero by using a proxy shopper. Confidence in being able to spend Monero is the biggest roadblock for most adopters in my own discussions with people that I convert. The HODL guys usually go for bitcoin or memecoins.

I choose clean design that put focus on the AnonBazaar marketplace and the Monero coin as the star of the image. I think alot of people love design that is not too distracting and make them lose focus on searching on what they need. So that is why. I hope this design can complement the website and also make people excited to search for goods in the Monero circular economy

Yea, thinking we add up/down voting or we have the tips get published and like we do on forums and if a banner has 0 tips or is the the lowest tipped after sometime it deactivates the banner. Only tipped survive. Lowest tipped per week are dropped. Something like that. 🤔
